(a few seconds to a couple minutes, sometimes a logout).Īny idea if this is a hardware issue or a software issue? Any suggestions on where to start diagnostics? Sometimes the machine will work for several minutes or a couple hours with no issues, or just a quick seize and release. I'd like to hold off buying a new machine a little while longer, does anyone have any suggestion of where to start?Īpple system diagnostics does not report anything. Still crashing several times a day, sometimes several times in a row. I've wiped the hard drive and did a clean reinstall. I was hoping 11.5.2 would fix the issue, but it has not. The system was stable for a while, and then became quite unstable. I waited to upgrade until that was reported fixed. I know there was an issue with these machines when Big Sur was originally released. I have a Late 2013 MacBook Pro that has started crashing a lot in the past few weeks, after doing subsequent Big Sur updates. Late 2013 MacBook Pro Crashing A Lot Hi there, I am pretty lost, because the event monitoring also has no traces of what exactly happened. I am normally running Edge, VS Code, Obsidian, and sometimes Outlook. It has also already happened in only using a MagSafe plugged in and nothing else. I am normally running only MagSafe and an Icy Box DisplayLink Adapter on my machine. The problem is that I am not able to get rid of the issue unless I perform hard shutdown, and this has come up multiple times in the past. Funnily enough, the system is not in complete standstill however, as I am still able to move my mouse, go into standby and even use Touch Id to unlock the machine once I lock it once. Basically from one moment to the other, I am no longer able to either execute Shortcuts, type anything, or click anywhere. I have a regularly occurring issue with my MacBook Pro where it suddenly loses all capabilities to register a click. MBP 14" regularly becomes completely unresponsive Hello folks,įirst time posting, haven't found anything about my particular problem however. Is this a hardware issue from the falls it's taken or something else? I've reset my SMC, PRAM, updated the OS, etc. I'll be the first to admit I have been a bit hard on my Mac, and it has taken a couple of falls, but nothing seemed too messed up until this started happening about a month ago. It's gotten to the point where it's become a daily occurence, sometimes even happening several times in one day! It will shut down with no warning, and then when I boot it back up, it will have all my windows/tabs/etc. After that starts it usually only takes maybe 30 seconds to shut down, but sometimes I have to manually shut it down.ĩ times out of 10 though, there is zero warning. *Sometimes* right before it shuts down, my Mac will make a loud buzzing/clicking noise, cutting out all sound/volume control. I'll be doing anything, whether it's browsing the internet, watching a movie, or even just listening to music and my Macbook will shut down without warning.Īctually, scratch that. Recently I've been having issues with my Macbook Air that are making it frustrating to use at all.
